I’m excited to share more about Scrunch AI, a new company Robert MacCloy and I have been building for the last year. Today we’re announcing:

There has been a ton of discussion about the disruptive potential of generative AI models as a raw technology. Over the past year we’ve become convinced that we’re also already in the middle of the biggest change in consumer behavior since the invention of search.

In October 2024, ChatGPT reached 3.7 billion visitors, and platforms like Perplexity, Gemini, MetaAI, and Claude AI are all experiencing year-over-year growth of over 100%. According to Gartner, by 2028, brands could see a 50% or greater reduction in organic search traffic as consumers shift to generative AI-powered search #answersnotlinks. This signals a profound transformation in the customer journey.

We’ve seen that early adopters of AI platforms like ChatGPT can get answers in a fraction of the time. The shift to AI driven search is unfolding rapidly. We are seeing consumers use AI for search, research and as the first step in purchase decisions. That’s why we think the most important visitor to your web presence is an AI Agent, like ChatGPT-User, working on behalf of humans.

Scrunch offers scalable monitoring of topics, competitors, and customer journeys across AI platforms.
